Support for dog owners finding freedom from domestic abuse
We're here for you and your dog when you need us
As many refuges aren’t able to accept pets, we understand that you might feel unable to leave your home until you know your dog is somewhere safe too. We place your dog with a loving foster carer for an average of 6-9 months, so you can access a refuge or emergency housing, knowing your dog will be cared for until you're ready to have them back with you.
Help a dog, help a whole family
Our amazing foster carers are a key part of the Freedom team, and our service wouldn't be possible without people like you. If you have experience caring for dogs, are at home most of the day and can commit to fostering for up to six months, we'd love to hear from you.
Could you buy a toy or treat to help a dog feel at home?
Choose an item from our Amazon Wishlist and it will come straight to us!
Every gift will make a tail wag, somewhere. Help Freedom to support the dogs in our care by giving some lovely toys and treats to help a dog settle into their foster home.
Domestic abuse support services
If you work for a support service such as a domestic abuse organisation or the police, Freedom can help you ensure a family's pets will be safe too. Support workers can refer people directly to Freedom, and we'll be on hand to answer any questions you or they might have.
