Of course! We will keep in touch throughout your dog's placement so that as soon as you’ve settled in new accommodation and/or are able to care for your dog again, we can return them to you as quickly as possible.
Our aim is to provide temporary care for your dog until you are able to have them back again.
All our foster carers have experience with dogs and go through an application and interview process before they can foster. This includes a home visit and providing references.
Along with your support worker, we’ll do everything we can to help you find safe, dog-friendly accommodation where you'll be able to be reunited with your dog.
If you’re unable to take them back, we can arrange for them to find a new home through one of our rehoming centres. Any decision to rehome your dog will, of course, be made together with you.
Under veterinary advice, we aim to neuter all dogs in Freedom care, free of charge. There may be some cases where this isn’t possible due to the dog’s age or health.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns and we’ll discuss these with you.
All our foster dogs receive a comprehensive health check when they arrive in our care. This includes any necessary treatment like vaccinations, flea and worm, neutering and medication where required.
Wherever possible we always aim to keep dogs from the same household together. In some circumstances, this may not be possible, depending on the dogs’ size or behaviour. We’ll discuss this with you at the time of referral, and we’ll always make sure all dogs are matched to a suitable foster carer.
